Chennai Super Kings conquered Hyderabad, brining to end Sunrisers Hyderabad's undefeated run at home, with an empathic 77-run win at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Wednesday night. CSK put into bat, destroyed SRH by posting a massive 223 on the back of Suresh Raina's undefeated 99 before their bowlers put up a good show to restrict the hosts to 146.

The left-hand opener then went after Jason Holder dispatching him for two boundaries and a six in the fifth over before Dwayne Bravo put him down.

Suresh Raina dismissed Hanuma Vihari (3) caught in the deep to leave SRH three down in the eighth over. Darren Sammy (7) pulled Sharma for a six before holing out to Morris the next ball.

The collapse continued as Patel (44) was caught by Vijay in the ninth over. SRH at the halfway stage were 75 for five, still requiring 149 runs. Thisara Perera (23) smashed a boundary and a six off Morris before launching Bravo for a six. He departed the very next delivery caught by Subramaniam Badrinath. Karan Sharma, who was put down by Murali Vijay in the 15th over, cleared Jadeja over the ropes to give SRH fans something to cheer about.

Amit Mishra (6) was run out by Ravindra Jadeja in the 16th over. SRH eventually fell short by 77 runs as Karan Sharma finished unbeaten on 39. Earlier in the evening, Michael Hussey played a maiden off Dale Steyn before putting Ishant Sharma for consecutive boundaries. He and Vijay then smashed three boundaries off Perera in the fourth over.

Murali Vijay (29) then took Ishant to the cleaners with three successive sixes before being caught behind off Perera. Karan Sharma was slammed for two sixes in the 9th over as Hussey and Raina went hard after the SRH bowling. The duo put on 133 runs for the second wicket. Raina was given a reprieve on 26 when Karan Sharma dropped him at point off Mishra.

Runs continued to flow as Hussey launched Mishra for a maximum in the 16th over. Raina took Ishant apart in the 17th over for 25 runs. Perera then struck twice, bowling Hussey (67) before having Dhoni (4) caught in the deep.
